How can I adjust the grind to a coarser or finer setting?
To make your coffee less strong, you can adjust the grind to a coarser setting. If you prefer it stronger, you can adjust the grind to a finer setting. Follow these steps to do this:
- The adjustment knob for the bean grinder is located in the reservoir or on the outside with a ring on the H2.
- Make a cup of coffee.
- While the machine is grinding, turn the grind knob one notch towards 9 for coarser and towards 1 for finer. Continue turning the knob one notch at a time until the desired grind size is reached. NOTE: It may take a while for the selected grind size to reach the brewing chamber. The previous grind size must be used first. Therefore, it is recommended to brew two cups of coffee before conducting the actual test.
The coffee grinder no longer works or makes a lot of noise!
The bean grinder is probably blocked by something (piece of wood, hard bean, shell, plastic, stone, etc.). You can often easily remove this yourself by doing the following.
- Turn off the machine using the on/off button (on top or front of the machine, not the switch on the back or unplug it immediately).
- Wait until the machine has completely finished its shutdown process. Then unplug the power cord.
- Empty the bean container completely
- If necessary, remove the grille
- Remove the protective cap from the grinding mill
- Use the vacuum cleaner to completely empty the entrance to the grinding mill
- Using needle-nose pliers, turn the star-shaped end of the grinder a quarter turn counterclockwise, which will bring the debris to the top and loosen it
- Suck everything out thoroughly again
- Replace the protective cap
- Fill the bean hopper with fresh beans and you can restart the appliance.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, a technician will need to be called in. Contamination of the grinder is not a technical defect of your machine. Therefore, it is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. You will therefore be responsible for covering the repair costs.
